Introspective. Today was filled with interesting moment after interesting moment and it left me with this notion of seeing the world through the eyes of child. I know it's not a new thought, but have you ever truly thought about what things mean to kids, what is it to them in their world at that moment in their lives. Just in the moments of today; one kid had a scrapped knee while hopping at the ice cream shop, one stepped on a bee on the playground and the other was trying to grasp the death of her great grandmother. All three are quite substantial markers in the day of a child and all three dramatically different. How will their lives from this moment on be affected by the "boo-boos" of today? Will they get up tomorrow and think completely different of the world, probably not? Will they think twice about what they say or do, quite possibly? As adults how do our own mishaps, failures or uncertainties shape us tomorrow?
Personally, I have found that scrapped knees don't always heal as quickly the older we get and well I dare to say I don't forget that I got stung by a bee as quickly. The death of a loved one still seems hard to grasp as you get older and even brings about deeper questions from within. I guess the important thing is to allow the wounds to heal and to continue on with our lives allowing our yesterdays to teach us more about our tomorrows.
