A Pair and a Prayer

So does everything have a pair? Is there always an opposite, opposing side or a different way to arrive at the same solution? It's sweet or sour, good or bad but then what about neutral is there an opposite of neutral and don't say not neutral cause that's not what I mean. It's just the point, that no matter where we are in life or what we do on a day-to-day basis, is there not someone or something doing the complete opposite? Is the grass always greener on the other side? This may be trivial to some but if you really sit and think about it is it not true? We are human by nature we desire more, want more and even at times yearn for more but then when you have "more" are you satisfied? Content? OR is it just and empty pit of disappointment, discontentment covered by the distraction of life? How do we arrive at a place of contentment in a place where we aren't content; if you are lucky enough to be at a point of contentment how do you shrug off others who think because you don't have what they have that you are unsatisfied? (Psalms 103) It's amazing how it is all about perspective; if we tweak the way that we think about certain things or begin a transformation of mind, body and spirit, that we as human can be on a path to contentment. Is this a lifelong journey, of course. It's the constant pursuit, deepening desire and living practice of who you are in Christ; for when we look at our lives without Him, it's ugly and disheartening. In Christ there can be transformation, there can be a constant revelation of contentment through him and your perspective becomes clearer; seek Him and He will give you the desires of your heart. Simply Amazing.

So back to this is it always one way or the other, I believe that that there are two distinct types of bible readers (although I know there are many, just bare with me on this). There is the "Lord speak to me and direct me into the reading that you have for me this day" and you randomly open a page and let God direct you. Or "I'm on a reading plan, I read from my reading plan and God will speak to me". Is one right and one wrong? Well, ask a bible scholar, preist or preacher and they might say "yes" but as for me I say if you are picking it up and God is speaking to you than how am I to judge how you get to a page. Plus, I do both which leads to the ultimate story. Last week, I was sitting at the park; its the one place where things just seem so much clearer and where technology isn't a distraction. Anyway, I asked God show me what words you have for me today (this was after my reading plan) and I started reading Jeremiah 31 and I begin to mark passage after passage of God speaking to my heart. "I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving kindness and I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel."..."Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded"..."Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear down and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the Lord" It's just so amazing how God knows everything he sees me for who I am and then he sees me through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ and he tells me passage after passage that He will rebuild and reward me; Praise the Lord!!
