"Steffy, I want to wear this one and this one"~Kate (one of the twins)
"Well, um Kate you can't wear two dresses to the park" ~ Me
"But I want to" ~ Kate
"You can't wear two dresses, you can wear one to the park and then one when we get home but you can't wear two dresses to the park!" ~ Me
"I want to wear them both"~ Kate
"Okay, lets just go downstairs and you can decide down there which one you want to wear." ~ Me
This is the point where I walk away and pretend to be busy, I just don't know what else to say! A little while later I walk back in and help Davis finish getting ready, which is shortly followed by their mom getting back from a run.
"Well as you can see we haven't gotten very far." Me to their Mom "And Kate wants to wear two dresses!"
(after a little small talk)
"Okay Kate well then wear two dresses" ~ their Mom
Needless to say Kate put on both dresses one right on top of the other, the one on the bottom slightly larger than the one on top. If you can for just a moment imagine a blue and white striped dress with a patched flamingo wearing a pearl necklace on the front covered by a dress/cover-up for the pool right on top, the bottom dress poking out more than slightly. I occupied myself with my laughter while Kate brushed her teeth and slicked her hair back with water and de-tangler. Then it was the moment of greatness, the ultimate excuse; she had gotten her dress wet in the bathroom. "Well, Kate you don't want to wear a wet dress and wet dresses aren't allowed in my car." It was a small victory on my part but one of those funny things that are just hard to forget.
Can't wait for another exciting day!
